BECOME A TALENT MAGNET BY DEDICATING TIME FOR YOUR TEAM
The leaders who find the time to deliver personalized coaching despite business demands will quickly become talent magnets – i.e. employees will customize their career plans to get a chance to work with you.
In my experience, timing for feedback and coaching is critical so start by placing 30 min monthly check-ins that are singularly focused on development conversations and not business topics. This creates an expectation for both parties to prioritize development conversations.
Use this time to provide tangible examples of when leadership behaviors were demonstrated or missing that month and agree on specific actions to deploy in the next 2-3 weeks.
This will essentially create a flywheel of actionable feedback and demonstration of learning.
